Accessing your Bill
If you are a student with eLion access, or a parent who has access through a Friends of Penn State, or FPS account, and want to view your bill online, go to elion.psu.edu.
Click on "students" or "parent/other" and login using your Penn State user id and password.
Go to the column on the left side of your screen, click Bursar Tuition Bills, select the bill you wish to access, and click View/Pay Bill.
Your bill will be shown here, and you will have several options available to you, including viewing a printable version of your bill.
If you do not have access to your student's eLion account, you will need to create an FPS account and then provide your student your Penn State user id. Your student must then grant you access before you can view his or her bill.
Paying Your Bill
If you are a student with eLion access, or a parent who has access through a Friends of Penn State, or FPS account, and want to pay your bill online, go to elion.psu.edu.
Click on "students" or "parent/other" and login using your Penn State user id and password.
Go to the column on the left side of your screen, click Bursar Tuition Bills, select the bill you wish to access, and click View/Pay Bill.
Select a payment option and click continue.
Then select a method of payment. Depending on the option chosen, you will be asked to fill in your banking information or your credit card information. Continue through the payment process until you receive a confirmation message.
If you do not have access to your student's eLion account, you will need to create an FPS account and then provide your student your Penn State user id. Your student must then grant you access before you can view his or her bill.
Granting Bill Access for Parents/Others
FPS, or Friends of Penn State accounts, are a type of account that is created for parents or other people, including grandparents, family members and/or employers, so they can view and/or pay their students' accounts online via eLion.
To create this account, go to elion.psu.edu, and select "Parent/Other". Then choose "Create an account." After you've created your account, you'll have to provide your student with your Penn State User ID.
He or she then logs into eLion and selects "Students", then selects "Parent/Other Access" from the left-hand menu. Your student enters your Penn State User ID, and can grant access to various functions including "Bursar Tuition Bills". Once granted, you will have access to your student's tuition bill.
Decreasing a Loan Amount
Only the student can decrease a loan.
If you are a student with eLion access and wish to decrease your loan online, go to elion.psu.edu. Click on "students" and login using your Penn State user id and password. Go to the column on the left side of your screen, click Loan Decrease, and select the loan to be decreased.
Click "decrease loan amount". You will be asked to select the semester you want to decrease, then click "Get current loan amount".
This will bring you to the page where you will enter in the amount you wish to decrease the loan to. Click "calculate new amount", and review to make sure the information is correct, and click "submit decreased loan amount".
